The Firm

The Firm’s partners spent their early careers at prestigious New York City law firms where they received rigorous legal training working on complicated and diverse real estate transactions, including acquisitions, financings, development, leasing and workouts. As in-house counsel at a prominent real-estate syndication firm, they gained the advantage of an insider’s understanding of the real estate industry working alongside corporate real estate professionals to develop and effectuate the long and short term goals of the company.

Mardi J. Schecter received a Juris Doctor degree from Stanford University School of Law in 1986 and received an Artis Baccalaureates (A.B.) Degree in Political Science with highest distinction from the Honors Program at the University of Michigan in 1982. Prior to founding the Firm, she was associated with Kramer, Levin, Nessen, Kamin & Frankel (now known as Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP) and Battle Fowler (now part of Paul Hastings), where she practiced in the real estate departments and then served as Vice President and Counsel for First Winthrop Corporation for four years prior to the Firm's establishment.

Kathy A. Younkins was previously Vice President and Corporate Counsel for First Winthrop Corporation, where she formed the company's in-house real estate legal practice group, overseeing the corporation's real estate portfolio throughout the United States. Prior to joining First Winthrop Corporation, Ms. Younkins was associated with the law firm of Clifford Chance (f/k/a Rogers & Wells), where she practiced in the real estate department. Ms. Younkins is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York where she has been a guest lecturer on various real estate topics. Ms. Younkins is a 1984 law school graduate of The College of William and Mary.
